This lil' cutie is the mini for the Warlord Data Card. She was the first mini where everything started to click in a major way.

I had already finished the skin (which I have never had problems with, supposedly making me a freak among painters) and the green when I started on the leather. I was trying to shade it and light it correctly and pretty much ended up beating my head against a wall for an hour or two. Finally I started perusing the Reaper mini collection (membership has its privileges) until I came upon a piece by the wonderful Marike Reimer. A little bulb lit up, I sat down, and finally understood lighting.

Ever since then I haven't had to futz too much with lighting in general; it was that much of an epiphany.

She was painted in Reaper Pro Paints: Oiled Leather, Linen White, Woodland Brown, Walnut, Elven Green are the likely culprits.
