Holy Guacamole, it's a new mini! I'm just as surprised as you all are :). This is Almaran the Gold from Reaper's Dark Heaven line.
This mini took me forever to paint, mostly because I tried a lot of new stuff on him. It's a completely different NMM style/mix than I'm used to, I never did OSL before (the glowy effect on the shield and the sword hilt), I never did really bad fake marble before; itwas a new experience all around :). I also used a wet palette for a lot of him, which took a lot of getting used to. I think I know now how not to use a wet palette more than how to use it, but it's a good first start.
Color-wise it's pretty basic, just gold and blue. I would normally not have done a figure in all gold like that, but his name was Almaran the freakin' Gold, what else was I supposed to do. Originally he was painted up for eBay, though I let Reaper take photos of minis they like to use on their site, but Ron loved him so much they ended up buying him outright (so he'll be going to GenCon while I'm not :) ).
And yes, I know I picked a bad background for it, but hopefully I'll be able to get a few more shots tomorrow that look better before he's packed up to be shipped off.
Oh, and this was a sculpt by the fantastic Bobby Jackson, by the way.
